Young Merlin is a family action adventure film about the legendary wizard Merlin, who has aged backwards through time until he is now 16 years old.  Fated to grown four days younger every Midsummer's Eve and to lose his memory when he awakens the next day, Merlin must use his magical powers to find King Arthur and awaken him to defeat the malevolent Lady of the Lake.  But Merlin must accomplish his epic quest while going to high school, where he discovers the Lady of the Lake is also posing as a student.  In the course of the school year, young Merlin learns about love and the life of a modern teenager, wins the heart of a high school girl, and after 1500 years discovers he still has some growing up to do.  And when he finally frees King Arthur, he discovers the greatest surprise of all.
