Excuses
A feature film
Chris wants to become a great comic book writer, but his real talent is coming up with
excuses as to why he doesn’t finish anything he starts. When a friend in a desperate fix
with his girlfriend asks him to come up with an excuse, Chris finds a new vocation. He
starts up an excuse business, selling excuses to people with a need for alibis, explanations
and apologies. Business is great, until Chris finds himself having to come up with duelling
excuses for a husband and wife over a missing heirloom. Falling hard for the wife, Chris
comes up with an excuse that involves posing as the wife’s one-night stand, and the ensuing cascade of lies leads to one comic complication after another.
